Our Commitment to Human Rights
As a certified B Corporation, our mission is to use business as a force for good. We believe that respecting, protecting, and upholding human rights is fundamental to this mission and to sustainable business success. This statement outlines our commitment to ensuring that we are not complicit in human rights abuses throughout our operations and value chain.
Our Guiding Principles
Our commitment is rooted in internationally recognised standards, including the principles of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), the International Labour Organization's Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs).
We specifically commit to:
Non-Discrimination and Equal Opportunity: We provide a workplace free from discrimination and harassment, ensuring equal opportunities for all team members and applicants regardless of race, colour, sex, religion, political opinion, national extraction, or social origin.
Fair Labour Practices:
Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining: We respect the right of our team members to form and join trade unions and to bargain collectively.
Child Labour and Forced Labour: We strictly prohibit the use of child labour and all forms of forced, bonded, or compulsory labour in our operations and require the same of our suppliers.
Wages and Hours: We ensure that wages meet or exceed legal minimums and industry standards, and that working hours comply with all applicable laws.
Health and Safety: We are committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for all team members, contractors, and visitors, taking proactive steps to mitigate risks of injury and occupational illness.
Community and Stakeholder Engagement: We respect the land, culture, and traditions of the communities in which we operate. We commit to meaningful consultation with local stakeholders, particularly when our activities may impact their rights.
Implementation and Due Diligence
To translate this commitment into action, we have integrated human rights considerations into our core business processes:
Risk Assessment: We conduct regular human rights due diligence to identify and assess potential adverse human rights impacts.
Supplier Standards: Our Supplier Code of Conduct explicitly requires all partners and suppliers to adhere to the same high standards of labour and human rights outlined in this statement. Compliance is monitored regularly.
Remedy and Grievance: We maintain an accessible and confidential grievance mechanism for team members, community members, and other stakeholders to raise concerns about potential human rights violations without fear of retaliation. When we cause or contribute to adverse impacts, we are committed to providing or cooperating in the remediation process.
Training and Awareness: We provide ongoing training to our team members and management on human rights, ethical conduct, and reporting mechanisms.
Accountability and Continuous Improvement
We are committed to transparency regarding our human rights performance. We will periodically report on our efforts, challenges, and progress in addressing human rights risks as part of our annual B Impact Report and sustainability reporting. We view this commitment as a continuous process of learning and improvement.
We encourage our team members, business partners, and all stakeholders to join us in upholding these fundamental rights. This policy will be reviewed annually.
